Heath Ledger Novelty

Posted in Uncategorized on July 30, 2008 by vandelayinc

I went to see “The Dark Knight” the other day, and for as long as it was, it was incredible. Heath Ledger was amazing in that film as The Joker. However, the film is making tons of money, and said to be suspected of breaking the highest movie income ever, which was Titanic. and that’s history making right there, which is cool.

BUT, you have to ask yourself, even if it makes you sound a bit like a jerk, if the movie has become a bit of a novelty because of Heath’s death. Because now everybody wants to see his amazing LAST performance, and I’m sure it’s making more money for that reason. Now I’m not saying the movie wouldn’t have been a hit if he were still alive, because that movie was going to be a hit either way, but you do have to ask yourself that.
Now everybody wants to see more of The Joker, and I’m sure it will be the role he will be remembered for. So they buy more tickets, they recommend it to their friends and family. Now like I said, I’m sure the movie would have been a hit either way, but it’s definitely something worth thinking about.
And I DO recommend you go see that film, because he WAS incredible in it. Probably the greatest villian on screen since Hannibal Lector. And that’s a hard role to follow up to.

Grocery Carts

Posted in Uncategorized on July 30, 2008 by vandelayinc

So, I was at a grocery store today, and I saw a man, in perfect health, and perfectly capable of physical labor, making an employee of the store push his cart fill of crap out to his car for him. How rude can you GET, America?

First off, these people work hard enough, long enough days, and now you want to make them do THIS too? Look, it’s like being a teacher and a parent. A teacher shouldn’t have to tell your kid how to behave, YOU should, because YOU’RE the parent. All the teacher should have to do is teach arithmetic and writing.

Now, if you’re handicapped, that’s an entirely different situation. If you’re in a wheelchair, or are missing an arm, then yes, the people at the grocery store should be kind enough to push your cart out for you, and if they offer, even if you have all your extremities (limbs), then yes, it’s alright to take them up on their offer, because they OFFERED the service to you.

Now maybe that’s what happened with that guy, maybe not.
All I’m saying is grow up America, the rest of the world is NOT your f*cking mommy.

Nobody loves you, or me.
