I just got a photo ID for my video production class.
Really, what’s stopping people from not believing you even if you have a photo ID? Identity’s get stolen all the time and therefore you could just be someone who stole someone else’s identity. Just because Jim walks around with a nametag or an ID that says his name is Jim, doesn’t mean it is. You’d have the check his birth certificate, and even THAT could have been lifted! I once went to Santa Theresa High School (worst school EVER), and they made us wear photo ID’s. They said they were cracking down on it and were completely serious that if they caught you wearing it, you’d be either forced to buy a new one RIGHT THEN for 5 dollars, and if you couldn’t do that, then you’d be suspended for the rest of that day. One day I forgot mine, and I sat right in the front of class when the assistant principal, who was an asshole, came in. He saw me, didn’t say anything, took other students who had forgotten theirs, and left the classroom. I became a legend at that school for that reason.
After that, I decided I wasn’t going to wear it, and you know what? I didn’t get caught for the next 243 days that I was there. THEY DON’T CARE. You could go to work without a photo ID and nobody would give a SH*T. Stop driving with licenses, stop carrying ID cards for the gym, if you say you are who you are, and they don’t believe you, what’s a photo ID gonna help? Just because you have a photo of yourself, that means that they believe it’s YOU?
