Weird Censors
I was watching something last night, and they had someone in the show say “God Damnit!” but they bleeped out the “god” and kept in the “damnit”. So God is apparently more offensive? Even as an atheist, I think this is stupid. It’s like on the airplane, you can’t bring a gun, but you can bring a knife. Are they aware they’re both LETHAL or did something miss something here?
Another one, especially on HBO and channels like that is that they will show, in pornographic films, the breasts of a woman, but not the crotch. WHY? What’s the difference between one and another, if ONE is offensive, the OTHER should be as well! My argument is what makes a bad word? Because when you think about it, the words “ass” and “you” have the same amount of letters in them, so what is it that makes “ass” a curse word? What makes people wanna censor it?
I just don’t understand censors. Now for a little anecdote. On a highway near my house, there is a sign on the side of the road. It reads like this (and one day I will upload a picture):
Family
Community
Church
And for some reason, that makes TOTAL sense to me.

Even in this day and age, with everyone but the Republicans talking about the seperation of church and state and how god has no place in schools, people still insist on banning “profanity” from television. Not swearing, but words and phrases that “take the lord’s name in vain” or some such nonsense.
Seriously, no one cares about being profane anymore. Kids these days swear so much that even the worst things on network television seem like kids’ shows.
