So that law was passed where you aren’t allowed to use your cell phone while driving. They stated it was because you had to have both hands free to use the phone. HOWEVER, a loophole can always be found. Because they NEVER said anywhere in there that you cannot TEXT while driving, which is of course way more dangerous since you’re looking up and down, from the road to your phone and your phone to the road.
I of course know people who use texting as one of their main primary sources of communication, and that means that they know how to text without even looking at what they’re pressing. Which yes, is impressive, and yes, not as dangerous. There are so many worse things you could be doing while on the road than talking on a cell phone or texting on a cell phone, some of which include; yelling at your children, trying to find a good radio station to listen to or doing your makeup. I have witnessed all three. Because when doing any of these things you’re always way more focused on doing them than driving. When you’re driving, you should be totally and completely distraction free.
When you drive, you also think that your car is the center of the frickin’ universe. You see accidents and think “Oh that could NEVER happen to me!” This is just the way the human mind works. We believe we can’t get into car accidents, or get seriously ill, and some of us even believe we will never die. It’s just the way we think. Teenagers will think, “Well she may have gotten pregnant, but that won’t happen to ME.” But of course, it might. It’s just human nature to think that everyone else is an idiot and you are a genius.
