4,032

I noticed my blog hit count is at 4,032.

I’m not sure if I should be proud, or if I should be missing my anonymity. They say you shouldn’t post what you write online, or put your real name on whatever you do online because colleges and people who may hire you will do a background search and could find your online work. And if that stuff is either offensive or they just don’t like it, then you won’t get into the school or get hired, but that’s bullshit. That’s the problem, nobody speaks their mind anymore. I like to think that my blog gets read because I give people the truth. You will find tons of blogs about what someone’s baby ate that morning, and what someone did on their day out with their mother and her newly wed lesbian lover, Monica, but who wants to read about what someone did? Besides stalkers of course. So I like to think that people read my work because I’m honest; if brutally.

The thing is, I don’t ask for web hits. I don’t go around begging for people to like me. I started this blog because I wanted to write shorter entries than I do on my LiveJournal, and because I had a ton of crap to sift through in my life. I still DO have both of those reasons, and yet people find my work entertaining enough to keep coming back. Hey, I’m not complaining, I love that they do. It’s very cool. The only thing that bugs me is I have to think about the majority. Think about it, 4,032 (from when I started this entry anyway). So from 4,032 readers, how many people do you actually think READ it and don’t just SKIM it? And from THAT majority, how many do you think actually ENJOY it and don’t think it SUCKS? Exactly.

I need a crap-o-meter on this blog. Actually, I think having a crap-o-meter might just be a useful handy tool in everyday life. You meet a LOT of people during the day. Wouldn’t you like to know how much crap they spout from their mouths?

Hmmm….maybe that wouldn’t be a good thing to have on second thought. I wouldn’t want someone pointing that thing at ME.
