Embedders
I just learned that the people who USED to cut themselves to relieve pain, are now embedding objects INTO THEIR SKIN.
I always wonder what it is that drives a person to do harmful things. What drives someone to drink, or do drugs, or murder, or harm themselves?I wonder also if ANYTHING at all drives them to do these things and that they’re just not natural born impulses. Sometimes the answer is clear, they didn’t have a good family life, or any friends, or lots of enemies, or nobody ever loved them (woman/man wise, sexual love) or a number of things. I find a lot of the times it’s the parents fault, which is why I harp on parents so often, but to find this one out, is just like the anorexic one, it’s SO sad. How does that even begin? I mean, when you’re depressed, they say to talk to someone. I’ve always been told, “Listen, I know you’re depressed, so I just want you to know that if you EVER need anyone to talk to, I’m here.” People always want you to talk about your depression, but never give any good advice, and parents-especially THESE days-don’t even listen when we DO talk!
“Mom, I’m depressed, Johnson broke up with me and I’m so overweight, and I have no friends, how do I make myself feel better?”
“Well honey, you can take this nail and hammer it INTO YOUR FOREHEAD!”
GREAT FUCKING ADVICE MOM! I know when I’M sad, I like to staple my fingers to the wall! I mean, why would that relieve pain? It seems like it would only hurt! And I ESPECIALLY don’t understand it when people do it because they think they’re ugly!
“Geez, I am SO grotesque, maybe if I drilled a few screws into my back, I’d look better!”
WHAT THE FUCK?! It’s SO out of line! Embedding is the DUMBEST thing I’ve ever heard people do! I mean, let’s talk about self esteem. Self esteem is often lost when people turn 13, but WHY? That seems to be the general question. Why is self esteem lost? Well, it usually starts when a kid turns that age, they start to lose friends because their friends don’t think they’re cool anymore, and then they come home all depressed, needing help and what does their dad say?
“You know, Toby, maybe if you weren’t so down all the time, more people would like you.”
Then Toby goes into his room to make himself feel better.
By sticking his FACE in a lawnmower.
