Rape Whistles
Rape has got to be one of the issues with the most loopholes in it.
Rape itself is forced sex. However, we run into this issue with statuatory rape. Sex with a minor. But here’s the problem with statuatory rape. What if the minor is willing? That can’t be considered rape, because rape is FORCED sex, and if the minor is willing to have sex then it wasn’t FORCED and therefore it wasn’t RAPE! I don’t understand date rape either! I mean, you’ve already got the person out with you, how insecure about yourself are you that you think they won’t like you enough to have sex with you at some point? They’ve already agreed to go OUT with you, so they OBVIOUSLY find you attractive and interesting! And date rape drugs are often used in places where there AREN’T dates! What the fuck is goin’ on in THIS situation?! Everytime some bitch in a bar gets drugged, the report always says, “Well, the rapist used date rape drugs.” But it’s always some random woman, so they weren’t on a date, so it can’t be DATE rape drugs! It’s random rape drugs! Spousal rape is another one that doesn’t make any fuckin’ sense, especially if they’ve already had KIDS! How is it rape IF YOU’RE MARRIED AND ALREADY HAVE CHILDREN?! I can understand forcing it and that can be considered rape, but rape should only be CALLED rape when it’s with a random person. If it’s your wife then it’s just involuntary spousal sex.
There’s also corrective rape, where men rape lesbian women to get them to be straight. That is completely offensive just by the NAME! Being straight isn’t automatically “correct”! And serial rapists, why are these guys always sought after more than serial killers? I mean which is worse, giving someone an orgasm or slitting their throat? Of all the horrible crimes in the world you could commit, giving someone an orgasm-even one they may not want-can’t be the worst thing in the world!
And Rape Whistles, here is technology gone berserk. Rape Whistles are designed to fight of rapists and warn everyone that rape is occurring. Well, there’s a flaw in this plan. What the FUCK is a whistle gonna do? And why can’t a REGULAR whistle be a rape whistle, what the hell’s the difference? Can only police hear rape whistles, is it like a dog whistle? I’m pretty sure there’s no difference between a rape whistle and a regular whistle. And here’s the 2nd problem, purely from a business standpoint. Rape Whistle companies ARE A STUPID FUCKING IDEA. People start rape whistle companies, because they want to reduce the rate of rape. Except, if you reduce the rate of rape then you’ll see an equal decline in whistle sales because without rapists, who’s gonna buy your whistles? EXACTLY.
I left out gang rape because, well it’s pretty self explanitory and not untruthful, it really is a gang of people raping someone.
I can’t fucking tear that apart, it’s too straightforward.
Damn you gang rape.

Yeeeaah, M@rk, I’m gonna have to disgree on you with this one. Spousal rape is still rape. Just because one member of the pair wants to have sex doesn’t mean that the other one is required to go along with it.
The logic behind statuatory rape is that people below a certain age are not emotionally, mentally, or physically ready to have sex, and therefore they cannot be trusted to make the right decision. If you’re an emotionally confused teenage girl, and a twenty-year-old man is telling you that this would make him very happy and that he loves you very much, do you really think you’d be thinking straight at this point? Consent is a very fuzzy issue with minors.
Rape whistles, though… I tend to agree with you there. No one will come running if they hear a whistle, especially if it happens at night.

I knew the day would come where you could disagree with me. Get the swords, we finish this now, haha.
I mean, this one is kind of more humor/stand up based than some of my other entries (as you know, I do tend to go that route sometimes more than just plain truthfulness) so I can see where the spousal rape is yes, considered wrong, but that part was more to get laughs anyways. However, I shall NEVER budge on my issue for statuatory because everyone is different. See, yes, you’re right in the sense that people below a certain age are NOT emotionally, mentally or physically ready, but since everyone is DIFFERENT, it REALLY depends on the person. Just because studies say that’s true, doesn’t MAKE it officially true. Some people below that age really ARE different, and believe me, I believe studies too, so it’s a hard one to guess. But to each his own, considering my blog is all about voicing your own opinion and standing firm for what YOU personally believe in.
But yes, rape whistles are a terrible fucking idea. That one I think EVERYONE can agree on.

“I mean which is worse, giving someone an orgasm or slitting their throat?” – I hope you know that in most cases women don’t orgasm when they’re being raped. They’re terrified and in a lot of pain.

I think you missed the point COMPLETELY. I know that, what I’m asking is do OTHER people understand it. That’s the whole thing here is making sure other people understand just how stupid our culture really is where in reality-as terrible and horrible as rape is (and I know because I have friends who’ve BEEN raped)-people STILL shouldn’t consider it on the same level as murder because murder is STILL worse. I mean at least after rape, you’re still ALIVE most of the time.

I see your point: murder is worse than rape. I wasn’t contradicting that in anyway (even though I think its hard to put horrible crimes on linear scales. I think murder and rape are terrible in different ways. There are a lot of people who wish they were killed instead of raped and commit suicide because the pain is unbearable).
What I was initially pointing out is that I didn’t find your comment – “I mean which is worse, giving someone an orgasm or slitting their throat?” – very funny (I think you meant for it be, since, you said you understand that rape is something horrible).
Also, I completely disagree with this: “If it’s your wife then it’s just involuntary spousal sex.” Rape is sex without consent. It doesn’t matter who the rapist, if he/she is having sex without their consent, its rape in my books.
I don’t mean to be just criticizing your article. I agree with you about “statutory rape”. I think some lawyers need to look into that

Well, this blog is mostly made for being funny but not everyone is going to agree with it. But sorry, I was having a bad day that day I left that comment, haha, so sorry if I came off as rude =) Thanks by the way about saying you agree about the “statutory rape” issue, because that thing is SERIOUSLY messed up and needs to be fixed, haha.

Don’t worry about it at all. If anything, I think I was the one being rude. You’re right, there will always be someone a joke will offend. Doesn’t mean we should stop making jokes
